Good news as FCA asks for more P2P disclosure

August 07, 2017 • By TAB team

The Sunday Times reports that the FCA is to launch a crackdown on peer-to-peer lending, forcing platforms to release more information to investors.

An FCA report to be released in the autumn will recommend platforms provide more detailed information about loans, including past performance.

Disclosure and transparency lead to growth, so regulation like this should be encouraged, and the FCA's actions should be welcomed as another sign P2P is joining the mainstream.
