A question posed in the Crowdsurfer office yesterday was 'are there many fundraises that reference Easter'? A quick look in our dashboard found 274 crowdfunding campaigns that do explicitly state that they are raising for a purpose that links to this time of year.

A question posed in the Crowdsurfer office yesterday was 'are there many fundraises that reference Easter'?

A quick look in our dashboard found 274 crowdfunding campaigns that do explicitly state that they are raising for a purpose that links to this time of year. These fundraises range from delivering events that relate/take place over the Easter weekend (such as Mission trip to Ghana and Tarkine in Motion) to helping farmers and other merchants in developing countries boost capacity and meet Easter-related demand (e.g. microloans to buy and sell cows or to distribute turkeys).

A high proportion of these projects are under £1,000 and not all of them were successful (as illustrated in diagram below). Combined, 173 successful campaigns raised $274,764. The funding type included donations (40%), rewards (36%) and microloans (24%) .
