In our recent publications, we gave you the Crowdsurfer response to the EU referendum and we captured the wider crowd finance industry reaction. Following that commentary, we thought it would be interesting to explore some of the crowd finance campaigns that relate to the Brexit decision.

Starting with campaigns that successfully funded in advance of the vote. We discovered that 3 of the most popular were:

BREXIT the Movie
£114,000 pledged on Kickstarter by 1,685 backers

This fundraise enabled the production of a feature length documentary that supported the leave campaign. Brexit the movie was referenced a great deal through the final weeks leading up to the EU referendum.

The EU Referendum, factchecked
£43,260 pledged on Crowdfunder by 1,371 backers

There were many facts and numbers circulated by both sides of the campaign. Many of which were called into question. This crowd funded campaign supported an attempt to get the true facts.

BREXIT, from North to South
€1,590 pledged on KissKissBankBank by 46 backers

This raise from Belgium funded a photographic research project to tell the story of a divided country getting ready to vote in the referendum.

Following the vote, crowd finance continues and so do referendum related campaigns! Here are a selection of our favourites:

Remainder: Dating & social app for Remain voters
£5,000 target, ongoing on Crowdfunder

This fundraise is to help complete a dating and social app for remain voters. Helping heartbroken voters to connect and move on.

Make your voice heard
£15,000 target, ongoing on Kickstarter

This raise is to help those unhappy with the EU referendum result to purchase as much advertising space as possible and show their love for the EU.

Brexit: Thoughts of the future generation
€60,000 target, ongoing on Kickstarter

Following the Brexit decision, this documentary maker wants to chronicle the thoughts of young people across the UK and Europe about this significant event.
