Data Acquisition Intern
Do you have some knowledge of CSS? Are you interested in a job at an exciting Cambridge fintech startup with competitive pay where you can set your own schedule? Here's why you should work for TAB:
Our mission is to be the world’s data intelligence service for global online finance. TAB processes and interprets billions of data points from millions of deals on thousands of alternative finance platforms globally every day. We use data engineering and machine intelligence to help users identify new opportunities and make better decisions within this new and disruptive asset class. We cover high-growth debt, equity, rewards and other platform types across all geographies.
To do that we fetch live data from 1000s of platforms worldwide, integrating with a wide variety of sources including APIs, CSVs and websites directly. The latter has traditionally been a time-consuming and unreliable task, so we've built a bleeding edge data acquisition system that automates all that can be automated: we can usually add new platforms to our system without writing a line of code. However we do still need people to map the various fields on a web page to our fields in the database, and that’s where you would come in.
We're looking for smart, well-motivated people to help us out. Ideally you'll have a Computer Science background, but that's not essential, as long as you're familiar with CSS. There's no coding involved, but you do need to be able to learn how the system works and approach it logically.
We don’t mind what hours you work, as long as you’re reliable, and the number of hours per week is negotiable. Great if you need flexible hours, whilst earning cash and CV points.
We’re based at Bradfield Centre, the brand-new co-working space on the Cambridge Science Park, but you can work wherever you like.
